"I was covered by Robert Ndegwa and State Farm for auto and home insurance for over 2 years. Unfortunately, my roof had a leak due to hail damage or damage caused by a defective vent originally installed by the builder. Upon my research, I approached homeowners in my neighborhood with new roofs, and they shared with me that they had similar leaks. However, unlike these homeowners who had their roof fully covered and replaced by their insurance, State Farm denied my claim, and I had to pay for the entire new roof. Lesson learned: please be careful who you choose for your house insurance; do your research."

While we can’t discuss claim details publicly, homeowners insurance claim decisions (including roof/hail claims) are based on the policy terms and the findings from the inspection—such as whether damage is from a covered peril (like hail) versus wear and tear, installation defects, or other excluded causes. Comparisons to other homes or neighbors’ outcomes can differ because each roof, policy, and inspection result is unique.

We’d appreciate the chance to review what happened and make sure everything was handled correctly, as well as discuss any options going forward. Please call our office. We’ll be glad to help."
